This weekend 2-3 Juli Carl,Ignace and Manolo went to the 12e Boulder competition in Groningen (Netherlands). The parents of Eva Vink and Liza Berends told us about their climbing gym and this was an opportunity to visit.
It was a good organized competition .A lot of boulders, a lot of people ,a final for youth up to 16 years, + 40 Years and adults. Carl,Manolo and Ignace climbed hard during qualifications and all were in the final. For Ignace this was a surprise because this is his first finals with adults.
Carl and Manolo topped all 4 final boulders on sight.Carl finished first category + 40 Years.Manolo finished second because Giel Wingers had more points during qualifications in category Male youth up to 16 years.Ignace was tired from climbing hard during qualifications. He was tired but did his best during the finals.He topped the first boulder onsight .The other 3 boulders he could not top and he finished on a 8th place.Eva Vink finished 2 place and Liza on 3 place Female Youth up to 16 years.

For 17.5 Euros you could try all the boulders,get a t-shirt, eat at the evening barbecue,camp for free on the grass next to the climbing gym, have breakfast and climb on Sunday.
What we learned :
The name of the climbing gym Bjoeks comes from the climbing place in France Buoux.
There is an outside overhanging tower of 37 m high that overhangs 11 meters (see picture). This is the highest construced artificial wall in the world ! We all climbed on this tower and although the hold ware big the routes were very pumpy.
