Open Youth climbing championship Arlon Belgium

Saturday 28 January 2012 Ignace participated at the Open Youth climbing championship in climbing gym L’Escale Arlon Belgium. Manolo stayed at home. Ignace topped his first qualification route .His second route he felt surprisingly very low and was last place in this route. He was afraid for his place in the finals but luckily could participate. There were only three places in the finals in his category. Ignace climbed first, climb the best he could, cheered the crowd while climbing and topped the route! Sebastien Berthe also topped and because he climbed better in the qualifications he won the competition and Ignace was second.

No surprises in female A en B category: Anak Verhoeven and Celine Cuypers won the competition and Belgian Climbing Cup in their category. Jasper Van Malderen (boys D) was second in Arlon and won the cup.

Klimax won the team competition in Arlon with just one point difference with L’escale and also won the Belgian Climbing Cup for teams.

Saturday 21 January 2012 Ignace and Manolo participated at the Open Flemisch Youth competition in Climbing gym Klimax Puurs Belgium. This year it was for them a greater challenge to become Flemisch champion.

Manolo finally enjoyed a lead climbing competition .He climbed relaxed during qualifications and topped the first route. The second route was harder and he did not reach the top. He made it to the finals. His friend Liam Thijs  climbed better during the qualifications so Manolo needed to climb well to become Flemisch Champion Category Male B. He fighted against lactid acid in his forearms and finished 6th place overall and became Flemisch Champion 2012!

Ignace saw his picture of himself on the poster and back of every participant. He  topped his first route  and even in the second one he was very close to the top .He was  in the finals. He climbed well in the finals and finished third place. Just before Lukas Geukens so Ignace became Flemish champion 2012.Afterwards he also gave an interview to local television.

Other Flemisch champions are Anak Verhoeven (Female A),Celine Cuypers (Female B),Cédric Binst(Male A),Nils Lemeire(Male C),Van Malderen Jasper(Male D),…..

Ignace Debreyne on posters

Ignace is busy studying but you can see him now on two posters in the Climbing gym's in Belgium .He is very proud that Klimax  have choosen him as model . Thank to Peter Cuypers from www.anthologie.be for making this happen .

Anak Verhoeven and Loïc Timmermans European Youth Cup winners 2011

Sunday 27 November 2011 was a historic day in Belgian climbing history. Anak Verhoeven (female B)and Loïc Timmermans (Male A) won the EYC in Kranj Slovenia and both are now European Youth cup winners 2011 !

Manolo third place at Youth competiton Peter Beliën Memorial

Sunday 27 November 2011 Manolo participated at the Youth Peter Beliën Memorial in climbing gym Olympia in Hasselt Belgium. Manolo was able to top 18 of the 20 boulders and finished 3° place in category (1995-1997) .After Cédric Binst (2°place)  who topped one bonus more and Liam Thijs  who won by  topping 19 boulders.In category (1998-2000)  Rob Denayer won. Céline Cuypers who lost most of her skin on the open Chloé Grafitaux competition on Saterday that she won , was second.

 Vera Zijlstra (Femals) and Oliver Mignon  won the finals of the Peter Belien Memorials for adults!

Manolo wins Bleau open bouldering sensations Youth B 2011

We knew  Manolo was 31° place Adults Male.Today the ranking was published for the Youth category .Manolo won in his Category Youth B male. No prices or medals ,nothing for the winners of the youth category .Just for the honor !

Bleau open bouldering sensations 2011

While Ignace climbed lead at the EYC, Carl and Manolo went to climbing gym Bleau in Ghent Belgium for the Bleau open bouldering sensations 2011. This competition is spread over three days .We went on saterday 12 nov 2011. It was a good choice not too many people on this day.All holds were cleaned before  we started which was great.Manolo climbed 27 of the 40 boulders.Carl climbed 20 of the 40 boulders.We had fun and climbed hard.Today the better competion climbers will try to get qualilfied for the finals this evening.
